Tess is a model and visual artist from Chicago, we decided to shoot a story together one of the grim Chicago mornings last winter.
It's hard to describe the light in downtown Chicago in winter with overcast - I would say it's hardly existing. The most fitting theme on those streets still lit with night lighting at 10 am in the morning is probably cyberpunk (hey to all Blade Runner funs out there:))
The situation is even worse indoors. Even thought we were on some elevation, out window was facing a very narrow street. It made me bring Tess very close to the window, like literally no more then 2 feet from the glass.
Tess...she has quite a presence - tall, lean, with shoulders quite broad for a girl and very long legs. We hardly said hello and she already removed her clothes - it was amazingly natural for her to be nude in front of two strangers - HMUA and me.
We played with the first look, which looked so-so, and then we started the crown and it felt into place immediately! I was so inspired that it made me push further and continue with flower idea - that was by far the best look.
This shot was, I think, the most successful from the photoshoot, it was featured on Affordable Art Fair in NYC that week through See.Me community, it also got picked up by Vogue Italia Online.
